Most digital artists can't paint using traditional media, while I can.  The image on the left is a render of a piece of bark painted using water colours.  The next three we made using acrylic.  The painting of girl was done in just under an hour.  The other two took a little longer.  The image of a guys face is quite old now, but I really wanted to show it.  It was painted when I was 16 years old and it was one of my first ever acrylic pieces.  The image on the right is of an oak branch, I only had a few free hours in the day to paint this and the next day I couldn't do much with it, because the leaves had already dried and changed.

Primates are all interesting animals to me, because we humans are so like the them in a great many ways.  Its tough work drawing these animals, because they can move at any time.  You would be lucky if you get a minutes pose usually.  You can tell the male gorilla on the right is depressed and who can blame him for being that way when he's locked in a cage for so long?

The human hand and the feet too.  Hands are really interesting to me, they are the greatest tools on the planet.  Its also quite tricky too draw hands, well it used to be in the past for me.  I've always been interested in how the hand operates and does it so well.

Having seen several documentaries on The History Channel about the Spartans I thought it would be cool to try and draw a Greek hoplite.  When will there be a good game, perhaps an RPG based in Ancient Greece?

In Stalingrad during WW2, if I was an Axis or Soviet Union soldier I would not be a happy camper at all to say the least.  After seeing the movie Enemy At The Gates I wanted to learn more about the war in Germany's eastern front.  I read the book about Stalingrad by Anthony Beever.  Man there is nothing romantic about war, its pure evil and nothing more.

A few years back I setup a team over the internet with the sole aim of making a computer game.  On the right is some of the concept artwork I did during the early days of the project.  It was a great learning experience, but I discovered its next to impossible to make a game over the internet.  However, a lot of good came from the project and I made some really good friends who share the same interests as I do.

This is the sort of work we were made do in art college.  It helped to increase my skill level, but man was it boring.
